Y’all this long weekend could have not come soon enough! I think we’ve all had awful, terrible and very lousy days. A problem with your car, a bad assessment at work, a fight with your mom, unsettling news from your doctor or maybe a promise you made to yourself that you broke…bad days can take many forms. I’m first to admit I can let something small ruin my day and really let it get to me. I wanted to share a few reminders that help me ge through the tough days!

Put Things in Perspective

Sometimes it’s hard to think beyond the thing that made your day horrible. Attitude is everything. Remember that the thing that happened today probably wont matter in the near future and it most likely wont effect you forever. You also have the power to make your own magic. You are never truly stuck.

Enjoy + Treat Yourself

I truly feel like treating yourself can help bring back positivity. For me it’s usually a iced coffee from one of my favorite local shops or maybe cooking something I find exciting or lets get real a delicious cocktail. Maybe there is a new pair of shoes you’ve had your eye on forever? Why not order them. It can make your day a teeny bit brighter.

Let It Out

It is never good to hold stuff that is bothering you in. I still haven’t accomplished this fully because I can hang on to stuff because I haven’t vented to anyone. I promise you talking it out will make you feel better. Don’t be afraid to say what you are really feeling (but do try to remain calm) because if you don’t you will have something negative in the back of your mind that will probably  resurface.

  1. Well said! I try to find time to clear my head by getting some exercise and putting things in perspective … then reward myself 😉

I’m a firm believer in retail therapy on a bad day! Within reason of course 🙂
